Bit By Bit

Today I'll write a post in English. Cleaning the dust here once again. I'm drawing my ass out. A lot of work, a lot of invitations for projects so busy all the time. And when I have spare time I rest, or I sleep. Which was the today's case slept until 2PM and now I'm sober as.. erm my cat!?

So I solve to take some pictures, to a random illustration, it's one of those things that you do without a particular theme. I always take pictures of me drawing, of the materials etc. I've always found this inspiring.

And I've also managed to capture thing with the camera that when I look into the drawing I don't actually see. Like texture and fine details.

So I began this illustration in a ordinary paper, it was based on a wallpaper I found somewhere in the www and it's influenced by Soul Eater a cool anime and manga that I'm actually following up in my free time. The character Maka instead of holding her weapon with is the character Soul is holding a book.





But why a book? Well this has something to do with a story I'm writing at the moment ^^ not much to say about this it's still in my head tho

This is taking too long because I only do a couple of line once in a while.

Yet I like the result so far, hope I don't screw this up when painting.


I started using nibs, but changed to micron pen 005 oh yeah that thin, never thought I'd change to that. And that why the lines are coming up really cool.

V Festival Internacional de BD de Beja (I) fotos do iphone

Foi um fim-de-semana espectacular, logo na sexta feira para abrir o festival fomos jogar Snooker bem acompanhados com Craig Thompson, Sierra Hahn (Editora associada da Dark Horse) Geraldes Lino, Marco Mendes e a sua namorada Ligia (se não me engano), Vidazinha e Diogo Campos.

Esta noite foi memorável, pura diversão. Começámos por beber uns copos. E depois após a insistência de Geraldes Lino avançámos para o Snooker.

Aqui Sierra Hahn a dar uma tacada. Boa jogadora e com uma personalidade excelente.
Aqui tentava ajudar Craig Thompon com uma tabela (como se eu fosse jogador disto ehehe!)

Já no sábado com muito mais gente e mais à séria lá fui eu assinar. Na foto Hugo Teixeira, Fernando Gonsales e Craig Thompson. Fiz um pequeno desenho ao Fernando Gonsales e ele ofereceu-me um livro do Niquel Nausea.

O festival de BD de Beja (que considero um dos melhores festivais de BD em portugal), toca-me sempre cá num cantinho especial no meu coração.
Deixo o meu agradecimento ao paulo Monteiro. Pela amabilidade, esforço e dedicação.

Não tenho grandes ambições para já, mas o facto de estar em contacto directo, mais intimista, lado a lado a assinar com aqueles que considero grandes mestres da BD mundial para mim um "Zé Ninguém" é algo absolutamente extraordinário. Não há palavras que o consigam descrever, apenas memórias de momentos vividos que irão perdurar para sempre no meu pensamento.
